I suggest that you read King Leopold's Ghost.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Leopold's_Ghost

It's a bigger issue than just parochial American squabbles over jobs / affirmative action etc. etc.. It touches every corner of the world and there's hundred's of instances of this kind of barbarism that has passed into the fog of history almost without comment.

Regarding Louis Ck, if you think he's offensive can you tell me why he's funny? No? Thought not.
The fact remains that no ethnic group in history has failed to organize in its own interests when threatened. Humans are tribal creatures, and always will be so. It is a fact that today white people are 10% of the world's population. By the end of the century, that figure will be about 1%. Now, there is no longer enough wealth to continue to allow places like Ethopia to double their numbers every decade by having fertility rates of 8 children per female. So, the demographic trends might ameliorate somewhat.

But we cannot continue in this environment where white people are continually blamed for the suffering of billions of non-white people, all of whom exist solely due to the technological advancements of whites and their generosity in giving it to these other races.

The past is the past. All people have enslaved others, and all people have been freed from slavery. All people have exterminated their neighbors at some point, or tried to. Again, this is the story of tribal conflict over scarce resources. It is ridiculous to claim that Europeans are the source of Africa's problems. Their continent was not occupied for but 100 years, and that 100 years brought more prosperity to the place than had ever been known. The population of the continent increased 30 fold in just 150 years. Slavery was eradicated. Had Europeans not colonized Africa, literally hundreds of millions of people would not be alive today.

The European people have done more for the world than anyone else, and it is time to be happy that just as many white people have devoted themselves to invention and building modern states as have other devoted themselves to war. People *will* fight back, it is only a matter of time. Why not be part of the amelioration? Certainly continuing to blame US for the actions of our very distant ancestors will not help reforming Africans and teach them to use condoms, not to defecate in the streams from which they drink, and that it is wise to practice advanced agriculture. Maybe Africans can change, I don't know. But missionaries, no matter weather they are Cultural Marxists such as yourself or Puritans have all failed.

I would like to say we should let them find their own destiny, but China's need for their resources will take precedence.

As I try to say to all Cultural Marxists: your views have only resulted in unspeakable barbarism and conflict wherever they gain influence. You have the power to stop this. There is still time to prevent further bloodshed, but stopping the hate and the blaming is essential towards that end.

I am in total agreement with this assessment Ery. People today conveniently forget that most of what you see around you was created by white Europeans or was created by the Chinese and the Europeans took it and made it better.

And correct all people have enslaved others, including the Romans who enslaved all of Europe and they were white.

I normally like to make the comment that unless you are a direct descendant of royalty then you are a direct descandant of a slave at some point in your lineage no matter what color you are today.

That's the most racist statement I've seen on this website since I started reading it in '06.

Leopold's Ghost is required reading period, regardless of your race, nationality, or religion.

Given that Ron Paul has been in the public eye for many years, it's not hard to get videos of his own words from his own mouth. Do a little homework, folks! This man is the last person in the world who could be described as racist. The mainstream media attacks are pathetic hit jobs from frightened bloated power brokers who have bleed the American people dry.

I voted for bought-and-paid-for Obama who lied about everything. I'd vote for Ron Paul in a minute even though he's wrong about environmental issues. He is honest as the day is long, absolutely on target with international, monetary and drug policy, and represents the real revolution we need in America. The French revolution wasn't pretty, and I don't expect the second American one to be that great--but it's like a bad tasting medicine that will save your life. Hold your nose and swallow. And pay attention to his support, it represents deep American roots.

Those who blame only the government would do well do google Daniel Sadek. The FIRE sector may be enabled by government, but it found plenty of quasi-legal ways to ruin the economy all on its own. Stripping regulation from finance will not fix it. It's akin to removing a gauze pad from a gushing wound.

I have catelogued what I find wrong with RP candidacy before. Here's the key excerpt:

I also believe that the middle class is hurting. Policies that encourage manufacturing and the real economy should be fostered. Policies that encourage FIRE should be tempered. Policies that help the middle class should be put forth. Policies that reward the modern 'bonus army' of FIRE rentiers should be tempered. I don't find this on RP's agenda.

...there is enough of an undercurrent of discontent that his ideas are not as outside the mainstream as they are often portrayed. This is apparent in his poll numbers.

RP is one of the few candidates who truly believes in his philosophy and policies. .
Very sorry to hear of your physical travails, DC. I hope you get better soon.

Your input has been truly missed around here.

FWIW, I agree with you in most of your criticisms of Ron Paul's candidacy, even though I support him as the best of this sorry bunch - and the corrupt empty suit who currently occupies the Oval Office.

I'd like to believe that his views will morph more towards the practical as he faces the reality of our present condition and decides against taking the patient completely off life support.

Thailand, you think that civilized people could have an educated debate without using the R word? I mean I understand people will throw around the R word to end an argument or a debate but I believe thats a bit childish.

I would not say that most of the non-whites exist due to the technological advancements of whites but I will propose this question to you.

Look around you, everything that is on your desk at work, look up who made each part or component of everything on your desk. Then come back here and list off who the inventor was and what ethnicity he was.

This is an experiment and only an experiment.

Sorry to hear about your leg. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I hope Paul is still a candidate when I get a chance to vote. I do agree with probably most of your points above. I am hoping these are talking points, and he will get a dose of reality once he realizes that he will have to battle popular support and the other branches of gvt. Most of the other candidates seem to already be captured by the over-lords. Including the O-man
                  1) Agreed we just need to spend it wisely. Like a prudent investor deploys his own capital.
                  2) What about a corporate flat tax? 10%? But you have to pay it. No loop holes.
                  3) ??? what about the profligate children? Don't they usually piss away daddy's money?
                  4) Capital gains taxes are adjusted for inflation.
                  5) CCC v 2.0?
                  6) Ever visit a country without controls ?? peee - uuuuu
                  7) Free repatriation seems like a shell game where profits can "appear" overseas and brought home here for free. 10% again?
8)Does Sarbanes-Oxley cover MF global? Will we see Mr. Corzine in prison because of it?
9)You could get rid of Dodd-Frank as long as you let the banks lose, and impose glass-stegall v2.0, to protect the legitimate depositors. Didn't John Hussman say that given the capital structure of banks, it is very unlikely that a
depositor would ever lose. Equity would be wiped, and bond holders take a hair cut.
                  10) I think SS is going down. it said so in my last statement, unless they are allowed to run a deficit from the treasury which would be ok.. Over the long term a very conservative 80-20 bond/stock portfolio has less volatility than a bond only potfolio and generates a higher return. How do we keep the fireman out? Buy the S&P 500? A computer is the manager? Didn't someone say the fed could be managed with a computer?? Taylor Rule. Hmm that would put interest rates around 2%??? The demographics of the country have shifted. SS needs to change too.

In general I think we have a lot of common ground.

Get better soon, your wisdom is missed.

The discussion between POZ and DC was wonderful to read. Not surprisingly I find myself agreeing with both. I'm easy that way. I am a big fan of Ron Paul. The question to me becomes, if there was a correct way of doing things, wouldn't we as humans have figured it out already? Or are things always unfolding in the only manner they can?

Ron Paul is less motivated by ego than any other politician I've seen. That is one good reason to hope he will succeed.

You're hoping Ron Paul will convert from political gadfly to statesman, much as so many people in 2008 were hoping Obama would convert from Chicago machine politics figurehead to unifying leader.

The best of a bunch of bad choices is not a good choice.

Leopold's Ghost is required reading to understand the insanity of political correctness, in particular how hedonistic values make it impossible to undertand history.

When the present regime collapses, the book will be studied as an example of the absurdity of late-stage liberal philosophy. Again, by any reasonable measure - the European colonization of Africa achieved tremendous success by your very same standards. If we use liberal morality, i.e. hedonism and utilitarianism, Africans had after colonization access to all the luxuries of modernity. Better food, health care, clothing, etc. Slavery was abolished, or did you not know that Europeans purchased slaves from Africans? If we use a pure darwinian morality, which is the only truly relevant morality, again - resounding success. The population of Africa exploded.

If you could go back in time and prevent the invention of quinine, or put a magical barrier around the continent to keep out Europeans, how precisely would Africa be better off today? Fewer people would have been killed by evil butchers like Leopold. Perhaps true. But so too would there be far fewer people, period.

The truth cannot be racist, but it IS racist to suggest that whites have some kind of blood guilt. Personally, I take the views of Spengler and Nietzsche on these matters.

The Africans have the right to find their own destiny. I would submit the colonization of Africa was largely a product of Anglo-Puritan sentimentality that was enhanced by the French Revolution and the ensuing new religion of radical egalitarianism. Many, if not most, colonists deeply believed it was their duty to reform Africa. They were no different than your typical Harvard educated peace corp volunteer. But it was a mistake to impose European values on these people. They were once capable of subsistence, if in a more primitive fashion, but now they are not. Their culture never was able to evolve because it never had to. European paternalism hindered and continues to hinder their advancement. Their way of life is entirely different from our own, particularly with the way children are raised. It is simply not right for us to impose our values on them.

Lastly, do I have to remind you that if Europeans were the bloodthirsty incarnations of Satan Leopolds Ghost infers, they simply could have exterminated the native inhabitants of the continent as the US did with the aboriginal inhabitants of the country? Even if Leopold's Ghost is correct, at least his murder did not result in the extermination of the Congoese. They have their country today; they aren't stuck on a reservation getting drunk all day.

Correct for who? Resources are finite. Who will control them is the source of most conflict in human history.

Thank You CJ. I hope DC responds to my last response to him addressing his statements.

That is the crux of the Libertarian argument in my view, you said "if there was a correct way of doing things, wouldn't we as humans have figured it out already?"

My argument is to let people do as they please because they will figure out their own correct way. The truth for anyone is only their own truth.

This is how we should be governed. To let people do as they please as long as they do not harm another human.

There is no correct way ultimately, there is only your way.

We must give up our ego's and realize that we do not know what is the correct way for society or what is right for everyone.

We should stop trying to legislate what is each politicians view of the correct way onto everyone else and allow the populace to decide for themselves.

Even RP in his Jay Leno interview the other night said "If the people want big military spending and if they want big government that takes care of them from craddle to grave than that is what they should have"

This argument can be taken to the economic realm as well. We have the Fed which is trying to control the market in the way that they think is right for the populace and I am against that view.
