  • Re: Osama bin Laden dead

So when is exactly did the West lose moral ground? WWII? Vietnam? ... before?

That is a pity really, but the worse is that the citizenry just continues on like if nothing happened/is happening.

All I want to know is: a.) Who are the Pakistanis who kept Osama Bin Laden hidden for these ten years or so? b.) Who at Al Jazeera knew about this? c.) Who are those at BBC in London who knew about OBL and his whereabouts and kept his whereabouts secret? d.) Who are those who funneled money to OBL to keep him fed? e.) What did Pakistan do with its foreign-aid billions from the United States over the years? f.) Foreign-aid into Pakistan and drug money too; how does that work?

And I am the moron, in a daze, just thinking about how things work--- or did work, in the sheltering of OBL. I would like some short and frank answers to my simple questions.

And while we are at it, where does one buy an Al Qaide franchise? What do they cost? Did OBL sell franchises in Pakistan? Do such franchises come with a protected territory? Do you need to buy a business license from the city where your franchise operates? Can you place a sign out on the street? Where do you advertise? What does a franchisee get to sell, news-feeds, and maybe fast-food and hot coffee too?

There are people that don't think about these things. They are decent, hard workers, just trying to make a decent life for themselves and/or family. And 99.9% of those that do keep up with current events are thoroughly conditioned 24/7 by some really sick messages in the media.

And what are "the really sick messages in the media" that you are referring to? Get specific and stop the leftwing clap-trap. What are the messages? List them.

Also, please be specific about your statement that the citizenry just continues on like ...nothing [has] happened or is happening.

What should the citizenry in Europe or the Americas or Australia/NZ know about what it is that is happening?

I know exactly what I would like to know about the Islamic world, and I think I/we are entitled to some frank answers, not bullsh*t.
I know exactly what I would like to know about this cozy relationship between BBC and Al Jazeera and their couriers in Abbotsabad, Pakistan. For ten long years we have been watching news-feeds made by OBL, and no-one knew anything?

                [QUOTE=Shakespear;197528]Steve Steve .... It's A Show. Sort of like[/QUOTE

Was 9/11 "a show"? Most certainly, 9/11 was not a show, or not "a show, sort of like", to use your words.

America is facing a very determined enemy, so determined that radical Islam was willing to murder 3000 people in New York City and try to do more killings in Washington, D.C. on 9/11--- not to mention the attempts they made after 9/11 of 2001. I think the American people and the world are entitled to some very frank and clear answers about what we call, "the Islamists".

Hitler's WWII and his Holocaust for the Jews and communists was not "a show" either. The nazis and his fascists were deadly serious too, and they had their own aryan religion, their own nazi architecture, their own nazi science, even their own "end of time" vision for the world. In many ways, the radical Islamists remind me of Hitler's nazis.... The nightmare is starting all over again. And very few took Hitlerism seriously in the beginning, either, especially not in Britain or America. Sad to say, even in Germany, the madness of Adolf Hitler was not taken seriously until the late 1930s, if even then.

The Nazi show was called "Reichstag fire" and "Gleiwitz incident"

To me the biggest story in all of this is the bungled attempt to concoct a story line. Really shows the inept nature of our leadership.

Final word? No, just an insane afterthought from a man, this Corbett fellow, who would benefit from being far less closed-minded about his world view. As with seemingly all of the tin foil hat crowd, "most powerful" means "omnipotent and omniscient," "most sophisticated" means "infallible," and so forth. Yet another individual that, though articulate, relies upon his own belief which is bolstered by his own confirmation bias. I remember one of his videos in the past that I liked, though I don't recall the subject. I think now I shall treat his videos as I do those from Foxnews, CNN, or Baghdad Bob.

Hollywood deal for film of bin Laden killing
                          (AFP) – 1 day ago
LOS ANGELES — US film giant Columbia Pictures has won the US distribution rights for a film about the killing of Osama bin Laden, to be directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow.

Bigelow and journalist-turned screenwriter Mark Boal, who won Oscars for Iraq bomb squad movie "The Hurt Locker" in 2010, had already been working on a project about the Al-Qaeda chief's capture or killing, before his death on May 2.

Immediately afterwards there were reports they were scrambling to decide what to do with the project, but Tuesday's announcement by Amy Pascal of Columbia's parent company Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed the plans.

"Bigelow and Boal have been developing the project since 2008 and plan to incorporate recent events into the film," said a statement, adding that the film will focus on "the black ops mission to capture or kill" bin Laden.

I saw the same done with the "Great Bailout of 2007" in a movie documentary (on Discovery ???) of Paulson's great ordeal making super critical decisions. Mind you all characters were played by actors, come to think of it Paulson is also an actor.

"It is not true, as a Wall Street Journal reviewer claimed, that the HBO movie version of Andrew Sorkin's book Too Big to Fail was "Too Boring to Watch." On the contrary, the problem with the film, featuring excellent acting and taut direction, as with the richly anecdotal book, is that it is all too effectively misleading."

I watched it (HBO movie version of Andrew Sorkin's book Too Big to Fail was "Too Boring to Watch." ) for about 5 minutes and changed channels. Had I not followed this issue as I have I suspect I would have watched it with interest.
