Apparently killed in a mansion in Islamabad. Awkward (if true.)

            Better dead than alive....

Better by forced entry CQB than drone attack....

Agreed it changes little.....more a morale/momentum spike than any tangible shift in the big picture in my opinion.

Well done to those who found and fixed OBL for the pipehitters to finish.

Maybe the world can now have that open, frank, and awkward discussion with Pakistan about it's harboring of AQ/Talaban by it's ISI.

I could careless about Bin Laden...I'd be more interested in learning HOW they rolled him up, IF the pipehitters had time to exploit the target area to determine who played a role in harboring OBL, and WHAT role(if any) the Pakistani forces played in this successful raid.

I wonder if it played out like Killing Pablo 2 The Sequel......instead of it being the threat of violence and the corruption of money that undermined every effort to capture/kill Escobar(until the US trained/led a specially vetted Columbian unit)....maybe it was threat of violence and ideology that prevented/subverted any previous genuine Pakistani efforts(if there were any).

All I know is....I probably wouldn't want to be an American working in Islamabad or the US Embassy right now.

The Pakistanis have a history of getting all burny and stabby when things like this happen.

ROFLMAO!! Looking forward to Trump coming on CNN tomorrow and demand the death certificate. If so, I'm cancelling my comedy cable channel. I'll just start watching CNN for laughs.

                Ok here's what it changes:

                1. Now Obama has a pretty good excuse to bring at least some of the troops home and offer some justification for that Nobel Peace Prize
                2. If he does that, that's bullet #2 into Trump's 2012 candidacy (1st was showing birth certificate)
                3. With Gadaffi bombing UN buildings + Royal Wedding News + OSama Dead =
                a. US dollar rally
                b. US Stocks rally
                c. PMs down
                d. Israel has enough news cover to attack Iran

Those were my initial thoughts... but it looks like I might be wrong already, US dollar rally only lasted 15 pips, and silver is climbing back up.

                  Re: Osama bin Laden dead

I have been watching the news coverage and it makes me ill. Creepy people, cheering laughing, and wrapping themselves with flags in the streets around the White House. If the film footage of the OBL was real, as I believe it is, I saw him and his henchmen celebrating the twin tower attacks, and yelling death to America, including women and children. The man should be taken out. It is not a moment for glee. It just closes one ugly chapter.

Silver getting hammered tonight. Down 3.70 at 12:50 CDT. After EJs article, I was intending to lighten up my position. It would be nice to see it tick back up a little before the markets open tomorrow. Hmm do you think it was EJs piece?
I intend on buying gold with my silver. Be nice if gold was down more than silver.

                    Re: Osama bin Laden dead

No it wasn't EJ's piece, come on, he was joking. There's only been about a gazillion bearish silver news streams in the past week from nearly every MSM news house; EJ's was by no means the only one saying to sell. Silver was taken down because:

                    1. It's options expiration time and the big boyz gotta make their strike prices
                    2. It's a holiday in China, so silver was taken down in the Asian markets on very low volume
                    3. The price was going parabolic and nothing goes parabolic without some kind of a crash. You just witnessed one.
                    4. Too many bearish news stories causes people to sell.

                        Re: Osama bin Laden dead

President Obama is to be congratulated for setting this example of fortitude against an enemy of every rational individual on the planet. Bin Laden was a murderous beast, causing many young impressionable people to be drawn into committing murder upon millions of their close communities while hiding away in a compound. This action is a classic "shoot-out" and the Soldiers involved are heroes of the highest order; placing their lives at risk for the benefit of everyone on the planet.

Well done Mr. President and well done the United States Armed Forces involved.

                            WTF??? This is straining credulity.

(CBS/AP) Osama bin Laden, the long-time figurehead of the al Qaeda terrorist network, has been buried at sea after being killed in a U.S. raid in Pakistan.
