    Re: Pope monitoring Iranian woman sentenced to stoning death, Vatican says

    WWII over 60 million dead.

    65 years later and with roughly 3x the world population today vs 1945, Poland alone probably lost more dead than all those wars combined. People have tended over the years to forget the scale of WWII. ( and I know this does not apply to you LD!)

    I'm not saying war was virtually eliminated, that will never happen. But MAD has dramatically impaired our freedom to wage it on the scale many would probably like to.

    I'm not pro nukes, just mentioning a silver lining in an otherwise dismal situation.

      Paying what we pay for OPEC crude, year after year, decade after decade, I think the Muslim World has had its hand in America's pocket, and it is the Muslim World that has been making the rules.

      It isn't as if Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, etc. have been starved for funds; quite the opposite is true. So they have only themselves and their culture to blame for their lot in the world..... But then, taking responsibility and taking blame for their fate is a concept totally alien to the Islamic culture, isn't it, because according to their paradigm, everything on Earth is pre-ordained and already worked-out in the stars of Heaven.

        I'm pretty sure that's not an accurate statement. Various Western military, intelligence (e.g. CIA) and corporate (e.g. big oil) interests have been working hard for the last century to mess with these (and other) countries.
        Most folks are good; a few aren't.

          I wonder how the msm would react if the pope was defending christians? I also wonder why no msm media is reporting this, modern day slavery and abduction?

            Africa? Why don't we start with the hundreds of thousands of women and children WE'RE murdering, maiming and making homeless in the Middle East? Then we can start pointing fingers.

              What? They're animals, kill them all? Am I missing something or are you asserting that genocide is better than a stoning?

                I'm the slow learner here. Help me out: Give me documentation that we are murdering and maiming and making homeless hundreds-of-thousands of people in the Middle East. It looks like an Al Qaide propaganda-feed to me, but what do I know?

                As for using drones to stir-up the hornets' nest in Pakistan, that looks fine to me. EXCELLENT! Let's send Al Qaide a message.

                  Re: Pope monitoring Iranian woman sentenced to stoning death, Vatican says

                  You are the slow learner indeed. Has your head been in the sand for the last 50 years of U.S. history?

                  What proof could possibly satisfy you? Numbers provided by the U.S. Government? "We don't do body counts"-General Tommy Franks.

                  Is everything else going to be "Al Qaeda propaganda-feed"? A concept, by the way, which is completely ridiculous to begin with. By what divine magic could a small group of poor desert dwellers create a "propaganda feed"? Afghanistan, a supposed hot bed of Al Qaeda, has no more than 50 al-Qaida members, this information directly from CIA chief Leon Panetta himself. At its peak Al Qaeda had maybe 300 members in Afghanistan according to the ISS which is definitely not "Al-Qaeda propaganda-feed". On 8 April 2002, US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld claimed that ‘enough pressure’ had been applied to al-Qaeda leaders to make them ‘so busy surviving’ and ‘moving from place to place’ that they no longer have time to plot terrorist attacks, this was even before the massive escalation in bombings and troop increases. So what hornets’ nest are you talking about?

                  What Proof?

                  The World Health Organization estimated 150,000 deaths by 2006 in Iraq alone. Must be "Al-Qaeda propaganda".

                  From the India Times "a US bomb flattened a flimsy mud-brick home in Kabul on Sunday blowing apart seven children as they ate breakfast with their father. The blast shattered a neighbor’s house killing another two children …..The houses were in a residential area called Qalaye Khatir near a hill where the hard-line Taliban militia had placed an anti-aircraft gun." (Yeah baby, stir up those little hornet bastards!) Or is the India Times now part of the "Al Qaeda Propaganda-feed" too?

                  "There was just a roaring sound, and then I opened my eyes and I was in a hospital," said the boy, called Assadullah, speaking in Peshawar after being taken across the border for medical help. "I lost my leg and two fingers. There were other people hurt. People were running all over the place" (little propagandist punk)

                  Mohammed Raza, an odd-job man, was not so lucky. At 8 p.m. as he was walking back home, near to the Jalalabad airport. A cruise missile targeted at a Taliban facility "a few hundred yards away", strayed and landed next to him. Shrapnel pierced his neck, grazing his spine, paralyzing him. (Richard Lloyd Parry, "Tragic Place in History Claimed by Odd-Job Man," The Independent [October 10, 2001])

                  Three days later, a researcher at the Institute for Health & Social Justice, Partners in Health of Harvard University, H.J. Chien, confirmed that civilians had been killed in Jalalabad and elsewhere. (A.J. Chien, "The Civilian Toll," [October 11, 2001] at the Institute for Health & Social Justice, available at: www.zmag.org/civiliantoll.htm)

                  On October 9th, the Pakistan Observer [Islamabad] daily newspaper reported on the first night, "37 Killed, 81 Injured in Sunday's Strikes." ("37 Killed, 81 Injured in Sunday's Strikes," Pakistan Observer [October 9, 2001])

                  The casualties spanned four provinces: Kabul [20], Herat [9], Kandahar [4] and Jalalabad [4]. By October 10th, The Guardian reported 76 dead civilians. ("Raids Restart with 76 Reported Dead," The Guardian [October 10, 2001])

                  And by October 15th, the leading Indian daily, The Times of India was mentioning over 300 civilian casualties and that the US-UK bombing action was in violation of Article 51 of the United Nations Charter allowing the use of force in self-defense. (Siddarth Varadarajan, "An Ignoble War," Times of India [October 15, 2001])

                  On the following day [October 16th], the alternative U.S. media noted that during the first week of bombing, 400 Afghan civilians had been slaughtered. (Chris Kromm, "Week One: Operation Infinite Disaster," CommonDreams [October 16, 2001], at: www.commondreams.org/views01/1016-03.htm)

                  Fleeing the intense bombing in Kandahar, Mehmood, a Kandahar merchant, brought his family to his ancestral village of Chowkar-Karez, a village 25 miles north of Kandahar. His extended family, crowded into six cars, arrived at a village just about when it was attacked by U.S. warplanes in the night of October 22/23rd. Ironically, the cars arriving in the night may have prompted the raid -- as the Pentagon labels "a target of opportunity." Said Mehmood, "I brought my family here for safety, and now there are 19 dead, including my wife, my brother, sister, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, my uncle. What am I supposed to do now? (reported in the Robert Nickelsberg and Jane Perlez, "Survivors Recount Fierce American Raid That Flattened a Village," New York Times [November 2, 2001])

                  Here, I'll start with Iraqi civilian deaths since our "shock and awe" bombing campaign of highly populated cities. Note this doesn't include thousands of deaths from the first gulf war, sanctions, and depleted uranium poisoning. This also doesn't include people who have been permanently disabled, who have lost their homes and businesses, who have lost their families.

                    On this 10th anniversary of 9/11, I want to know why we haven't had the full co-operation of Pakistan and Iran in finding Bin Laden? Where is he? Who is hiding him?

                    We are in plain English getting, "the run-around" from the Turd World in SW Asia. Why is that?

                    Some observations from your Iraq Ministry of Planning and Development Co-operation: "2004 Survey of Living Conditions, Vol. 2, published in 2005:

                    --- total fertility rate of women 4.0 in Table 33 on p. 48 (comparing to Canada or the US with around 2, or less births per woman);
                    --- sewage running in the streets in Iraq, 40% of urban areas observed;
                    --- sewage running around household, 33% of rural areas observed
                    (reference Table 16, page 28);
                    Household population size: 7 in rural areas, 5 in urban areas (compares to as low as 2.6 in urban areas in Canada and America), (ref, p. 41);
                    population of Iraq in 1960 approx. 6 million, population of Iraq in 2010 approx. 30 million ( or a 500% increase in 50 years ),
                    ref, Figure 19, p.41.

                    I'm sorry, but I have an issue with the culture of the Turd World.

                    Some data that you should note:

                    Water dis-charged in an average year from the Colorado River to the Gulf of California: approx. 1200 cubic feet per second;
                    water dis-charged in an average year from the Euphrates River ( Iraq ) to the Persian Gulf: approx. 12,600 cubic feet per second at Hit, Iraq.

                    My question: Why the misery in Iraq with so much fresh water dis-charged from the Euphrates River into the Persian Gulf? Why so few dams? Why so few canals? Why so little effort to irrigate the desert and pump fresh water to the cities?

                    Could we in the West have the oil in Iraq to pay for our effort to liberate you from tyranny, or is that too much to ask for?
                    You only have the world's largest reserves of sweet, light, oil to-day.

                    Sorry, but I am fed-up with the bull-sh*t from the Turd World, including Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan. Stop making excuses and claiming to be victims.

                    Where is Bin Laden? Stop playing games with us, and hand-over Bin Laden now. And you don't want to know how the rest of America feels about the happenings and lies from your region, because we are united (as never before) and mad as hell about 9/11.

                    Just hours ago, the clerics running Iran broke their agreement to release the hiker back to America. All of this is setting an ugly mood inside the USA for a military solution.

                      I'm not sure why he has iTulip Ambassador, whatever that means, next to his name. He adds little even when it makes sense.
