Re: Fukushima: Little by Little . . .
One more small issue with solar used for generating electricity, whether the electricity is generated with solar panels on top of your house or whether the electricity generated is to be sent-out to the grid: except for your tiny solar lights, YOU NEED ALTERNATING CURRENT at exactly the cycles per second that the grid will runs on. The tiny problem is that your solar panels produce DIRECT CURRENT. Therefore, you need to run an alternator motor in order to convert the DC to AC, and this sucks-up much of the power you generated--- if you have generated any power at all.
The German engineers love solar power? Yes, and they loved their old Volkswagen beetles, too.
I won't even get into the issue of cycles per second that your alternator has to exactly output..... Excuse me, but my pants are wet from laughing and crying at the stupidity here.
And you expect the Germans to write cheques to bail-out Greece because solar power is so wonderful there? The story with solar power just gets more hilarious as it unfolds! No wonder the U.S. dollar is strengthening a bit to-day, relative to the Euro.
