Join a Virtual Private Network like Strong VPN. With a VPN you could go to China and surf the internet about Tiananmen. You could go to Oman and surf terrorism. You'll have a US IP and no restrictions. (You can also get around the IT guys at work tracking where you surf, for that matter you will have no restrictions on what you surf!
