Re: The Gravy train has hit the buffers!
Yes, in a nutshell..........i don't want to get into the rights or wrongs....the fact is the British SCUM have to face up to the fact they are broke. I simply can't tell you how pissed off i get when i show a Brit a chart of FALLING Northsea Oil/Gas production.then show them a chart of rocketting borrowing....
Anyone withmore then 3 brain cells could see that income from Northsea production was replaced with borrowing!
...........but not typical limey!

One of my engineer friends grew up in the UK. He often said that the north sea oil was the only thing keeping the country afloat economically. He seemed to think the oil income had displaced manufacturing and other types of productive work.Originally posted by Mega View PostYes, in a nutshell..........i don't want to get into the rights or wrongs....the fact is the British SCUM have to face up to the fact they are broke. He told me that after he graduated, even though he had a "good job" as an engineer, the income taxes were so high he couldn't even make a monthly budget work. He moved to the USA at that time. I wonder if today's young people will have a similiar experience with USA entitlements and try to move to Taiwan.
