    Debridement :

surgical removal of foreign material and dead tissue from a wound in order to prevent infection and promote healing (promotes HP computer healing).

    wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

Debridement is a medical term referring to the removal of dead, damaged, or infected tissue ( MS Office 12 ) to improve the healing potential of the remaining healthy tissue. ... (sickly anemic HP computer).

That "founders" label was gratis of EJ early on and was granted to me because of a volume, not necessarily quality, of posts. No investments do I have in iTulip.

Nearing 68 y/o I am more and more hard pressed when it comes to change. My problem with even buying a new computer was dealing with whatever changes I would encounter in Vista and that was based on piddling with wife's computer that has Vista.

I got a helluva computer, hp, that actually is a gamer's setup, I think, though I do NO gaming. I like the computer though, and hopefully will not pissaway a lot of hours again chasing gremlins or whatever software shit is called.

For anyone who may not have learned, one cannot be too compulsive about doing backups. It was one of them that was mostly responsible for getting me straightened out--once I figured or learned how to debride Office 12 from the system.

Jim's cry "from the wilderness" is somehow reminiscent of those old hand carried blow-torches used to bubble-peel old paint from auto-bodies? Or was it the steel wire brush with the semidilute hydrochloric acid? Go Jim. Time to check in to your local Fry's Electronics and buttonhole the nearest Microsoft products tout for an earful of flames and paint peeler. There is no point in going up to Redmond Wa, as the security goons in the corporate buildings won't let irate hostage-clients in past the lobby. When you go there, there's no buttonholing of corporate level MS product touts allowed - you have to stay outside and picket.

Over the last week, this Excel 11 workbook upon attempting 39 or so queries started returning mostly error messages vs. data being imported. Though this particular workbook is seldom the first of many I load, in the past week I noted if it were the first I loaded, that the computer would start to install Office 12 Excel which had just been dormantly taking up space on my hard drive.

After doing everything I could think of to get the queries to work, I called Microsoft support and was told this was a problem for "higher level of support" which just cost $249/incident. I said screw that Dilip (my Indian support guy). How about you just totally uninstall Office 12 for $50 and lets see what happens. Why did I ask him to uninstall it rather than doing it myself. Because the goddammed program will not uninstall in a conventional manner as almost all programs I have used since the advent of Windows would uninstall.

Check out this KB article that explains what one must do to uninstall this piece of shit: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/

What Dilip did for me did not work, but upon restoring a backup for my entire drive from a week ago and then uninstalling Office 12 myself as in the KB article, I got the workbook to perform the queries error free at least once so far.

Gates, Ballmer, et. al, should have their reproductive organs along with those of any of their offspring excised, incinerated, and blasted into the furthest reaches of space. This method of dealing with bullshit would also likely suffice in dealing with the instigators of any number of problems facing the US an world today.
