Re: Nuclear 1/3 of the way

Meanwhile global warming continues to lose to inconvenient facts:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/...p_growing.html

As I've stated before we do need to reduce fossil fuel use thru much more solar and nuclear, but we don't need yet another tax and control program by bureaucratic autocrats.

Of course, as Lextrode says, we need to put the financial felons in jail even through the administration has been bought off with campaign donations in hundreds of millions, as has the GOP.

Nonsense vt, drop it. We no longer talk about the validity of global warming on iTulip. Stay on point. If you're against a carbon tax, fine. State that and your support for that position. Don't look for some off the wall bit of non-science to bolster your tax position. I don't agree with you but at least that position is based in reality.

It's impossible to argue against religious beliefs.

        NASA non-science? really?

It seems like respected scientists are questioning the "settled science"

It is best to keep an open mind as we have seen an 18 year lull in any warming, that was certainly not predicted by global warming supporters.

vt, love you man but you are sometimes hilariously uninformed.

Evans isn't a "respected scientist", he's not even a scientist, he's an engineer. He is on the board of a right wing non-profit that won't disclose their funding sources but as for his bonafides...not so much.

The scientists cited in the 2nd article made no claims regarding global temperatures. Zero. None. Their research is legitimate and it's interesting but it's related to sun spot activity. And, while sun spot activity does have some effect on temperature it is very small compared to other forcings. Again, you can't stop the right from taking legitimate research and repurposing it for their own ends but you can do a little digging to understand if you're participating in the dissemination of garbage.

Thanks for the love Santa Fe! I always welcome comment and never claim to be 100% correct.

Dr Evans has a Phd in Electrical Engineering and possesses four other degrees.

He is also a qualified mathematician. This is very important because a reading of the article shows that he has found mathematical errors in the warmist calculations showing that previous findings have inflated temperature predictions. His calculations suggest a cooling period starting a early as 2017 and lasting until 2030.

This information is helpful because we may know if his predictions are accurate because the event will start to occur soon.

Dr. Valentina Zharkova is a professor of Astrophysics at a British University and feels we have a mini ice age coming.

Right wing? Not necessarily. In fact Dr. Evans was a firm believer in global warming until his research revealed the flaw in the data.

You may have noticed that Putin recently said that global warming is a fraud, and I don't think anyone would call him right wing

It's probably not every so often but I'm not sure it's consistently. It might be frequently. It's definitely not occasionally.

vt should start a thread in the iTulip bore hole called "100 reasons I hate liberals". Not consistently or frequently but occasionally or every so often, I'll agree.

He has no training in the field he's critiquing. By your logic I should find a great electrical engineer with several degrees to be my physician. Maybe I'll tell my internist to take a hike as soon as I find a smarter Los Alamos physicist.

Absolutely and utterly incorrect. Zharkova has the cred but she never said a mini ice age is coming. Do you read my posts? Your referencing your right wing article not the research. The idiot reporter said a mini ice age is coming.

So you're proposing that we take your argument seriously because Putin agrees with you. Oh boy, I'm just going to let this go.

I don't hate liberals or anyone else. Such narrow minded labeling; one posta something which disagrees with a part of one's "religion" and the attack begins.

As stated many times I'm an independent, taking moderate and liberal positions on social issues and moderate to conservative on economic. Definitely NOT tea party and definitely NOT socialist.

We independents are in greater numbers than Democrats or Republicans, and one day will help the nation get rid of both.

The blog post is certainly non-science as is their specious conclusion. As for austerity it's only effect will be economic due to the length of the carbon cycle. Perhaps it will be useful to certain politicians. They can be seen as saviors when they alleviate the suffering of which they were the primary cause. Why people focus on political footballs that distract from the real issues at hand is beyond me.
