Yeah, well that's (cookie jar) what it looks like to me as well. It's ironic that the SEC charged QWest, and their top management, with what was really pretty major fraud while the DoJ only charged Joe with insider trading. The former very serious fraud was not prosecuted criminally while the much less damaging, in dollar terms, insider selling Joe was accused was a criminal charge. It's pretty obvious he was the major driving force behind the actions that led to the SEC suit but it's much harder to prove were he charged criminally with that. So they went after him with the easier stuff, insider trading.
Whatever Joe's actual stand was with the NSA the problems he had that led to club fed had little or nothing to do with it and I find no reason to believe the prosecutions were retaliatory.
