  • Mega's local GM dealership dies!

    Its been GM for...........ever.....i recall going there in the early 70's with my Dad. But as of last week one of the 2 sites is shut & they now sell..........FORD!

    Ford certainly has better products, including several small cars that work well in the European markets.

    And to think ... they did it without any government bailouts or without screwing their bondholders.

      Had a look at Ford's balance sheet lately?

      They have been working off the debt slowly, but Mulally levered the company up to the maximum when he first came on board...and it still has a rather unenviable 6:1 debt:equity ratio. And don't forget that Mulally and Co. were in D.C. right beside GM and Chrysler lobbying for the government to bail out those two companies...

        I like Ford very much, but VW is better & Toyota/Honda better again............

        One must question the GM mangerment..........at a time of large fall in sales they SUDDENLY set up a CHEVY brand in the UK to complete with....Vauxhall/Opel
