Re: Privacy - A Cellophane Citizenry
Thanks for posting, Don. It parallels so many discussions here on the 'Tulip. The same problems are evident, but with privacy, rather than general governance, as the focal point for assessing the effects.

Thanks for listening, astonas. It was a pretty comprehensive look at many of the 'tulip's threads, from a guy doing something about it - besides talking, which added weight to his observations and conclusions.Last edited by don; December 22, 2011, 06:54 PM.

Turley:
“We’ve had three polls in the last year and they all show the same thing. The American people say that they are more afraid of the government than they are outside forces like terrorists. So there’s this disconnect. The majority of Americans are actually very concerned about the loss of rights, but Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, can’t move harder against privacy. And this is part of the cynical calculation."

"...we are a nation of chumps...they are all lying to us....yet when elections come around we put on our blue or our red scarf and go running off to support them."
What's it going to take for us to get out of this trap? Is it impossible until a generation or two pass on?

You see this everywhere, and the people do not care. I am shocked by it all.
Bush ended up being a disaster, and all the Obama supporters believed e would roll back the Bush years. Instead he is Bush III on steroids. Yet so many still "believe" it is downright scary.
There are small countries around the world that are starting to look much more appealing that the US nowadays.
