Re: Copper "Investment" ? (80% of Londons market is bought up)
I don't know if copper is an "investment" or not, but the one nice thing about commodities is that commodities are REAL. You can touch them. They have mass. They exist; no faith is needed.
Stocks? Sometimes they pay a dividend and sometimes they don't or won't. And sometimes the companies go bankrupt. And when your stoxx go bankrupt, you get NOTHING.
Commodities are a gamble, but stoxx are just pieces of paper. And sometimes the pieces of paper pay a dividend, and sometimes they don't or won't.
The lesson so far in this Great Recession: Get real! A home that you live-in is real. Gold is real. Oil is real...... And nothing much else counts for anything.
Learning these lessons is expensive, but learning these lessons is kind of fun!
"You can't live on love." That was lesson #1.Last edited by Starving Steve; December 03, 2010, 09:00 PM.
