It's comforting to see Ireland back in it's rightful place in the social order. Back to peonage to London banks! Come on, weren't they running as #2 in per capita gdp in the euro zone? Maybe they can restart the laundries and have girls who had bastard kids work off the debt that way.

When "austerity measures" come to the states it will be a heck of a good time.

I hope my sarcasm about a corrupt system wasn't taken as a disparagement of the Irish people.

Where and how does this nonsense end?

          Jesse says it classy:

Irish Prime Minister to Dissolve Government After a Budget Is Passed

          Breaking news.

Personally I would hope they do not even allow them to pass anything but a pro forma budget and then show them the door.

The elections will be a referendum on the financial corruption in Ireland as they were in Iceland.

Why the Irish would yoke themselves and their children for years to save the multinational banks is puzzling. But it will not have been the first time that the Irish people were sold by their leaders to the monied powers in foreign lands, and it likely will not be the last.

            Mega's thoughts:-
This is a back stop, but Ireland can't cover this debt............its will keep coming back & back.

I just wish the ATTACKS would switch to London, but for some reson it won't.

What many may not realise is that the UK government pays all the UK old age pensioners regular pensions through Anglo Irish Bank. If that bank goes belly up, then the backwash may have a VERY nasty effect upon the likelihood of the political survival of the UK too. This is not good news. What chance that an acceptance for an immediate General Election will prevent the deal just brokered?

Yes indeed, and I stayed up late in the hope of being able to "post" the interview, but it turns out we have to wait for a few days before we can do that, but when it does appear for download, I will put it up.
To my mind the word "Contagion" was the highlight of the interview, with them all nodding like mad.....

Click the attached to see what our Irish Newspapers are saying about the government.

No politicians over here are pointing out that we should default and let the private German bondholders who were foolish to be overexposed to reckless banks take the hit instead of the Irish taxpayer.

                        Theft.

Why should Germany have to pay for bailing-out over-priced real estate and bad-debt in the PIIGS, not to mention, ridiculous and non-viable green-energy schemes? If I were a German, I would be plenty upset.

And the day of reckoning is coming for America too. The State of California is more in debt than ever. Taxes have to go up, and the ridiculous green-energy subsidies have to be cut. Interest rates have to be raised by the Fed, and bail-outs for dead-beats and zombie banks have to be stopped.
