We will see who they trust more and at what price. If the cold war was WW3 without many bullets fired, this will be WW4 fought with fiat, military development and media as well. The US and the west as a whole packing it in from resource rich places isn't happening tomorrow, regardless of silly stuff like old debts. Also, the ties between America, the Saudis and Emeriates go pretty deep. Ask Sadam how thumbing your nose at the west goes. I would keep an eye on Australia and China for clues on how business will get done in the near future.
