One of the best cars I ever owned, in terms of total utility, was a Mercedes E class diesel. 38 MPG highway, 30 city. Big and comfortable, safe, seats 4-5 and a big trunk. Wasn't the most fun car, that award goes to either the BMW, Miata or the 911 but it was really great.
But since this is not the auto technology thread, I move on to the more important question at hand:
What were the final details of the GM/UAW contract?
And what are the implications for other US companies and unions?
