Less powerful but better life cycle & a cheaper (by a large margin)............might mean "Cheap" battery cars.

Smart move
to be honest most people are not seeking 0-60 in 4 secs or less nor +150 mph.
I think those whom want a model 3 performance now have it.....sales likely to start to slip.
Thus a case for a MUCH cheaper Model 3 but with long range but much reduced performance makes sense
0-60 in 9 sec & 100 mph fine, but 300 miles REAL range required.
