Commoditization is the ultimate tangible expression of financialization.
freedom now is a smartphone. a kid's first smartphone = a big deal. much less need for physical mobility, and for that reason transportation is just the means to an end, not an end in itself. i don't think of that transition as a result of financialization. [i blame financialization for a LOT, just not for that.]
