I've noted the potential spread of a false meme - that hyperinflation hits almost overnight. Well, here's the facts from Weimar - it just ain't true.
The first two charts show monthly inflation (the first stops at the end of 1923 so that detail is visible, the second is the full period). The second two charts are identical, except shows yearly inflation.
Note also that the most widely accepted economic definition of hyperinflation is 50% per month.
