Default A very fine presentation on climate change and energy policy

3 Great Truths of Electricity Generation and Supply

    1) We cannot live without reliable and dependable energy.

Any policy must be prudent and practical in terms of technology, engineering, and resourcing

    2) Everything about the equipment required to generate electricity takes a long time to build and fantastically costly.

Any clean energy requires even more fantastically high cost

    3) This fantastic expense must be paid for by global capital and financed by consumers and businesses.

There is no 3rd way in energy policy.

The people who talk nonsense should not be allowed on the bridge.

Do you believe that the UK can decarbonize its power generation with significant amounts of nuclear power?

Do you believe that we can cut domestic electricity consumption by 2020?

Do you believe that the first new nuclear power station to be built can be brought to full production by 2018?

Do you believe that tidal energy is going to make a meaningful contribution in the next 15 years?

Do you believe the world is going to run short of gas in the next 40 years?

Do you believe in the tooth fairy?

If they answer yes to any of these questions, they should not be allowed on the bridge.
