Max & Stacy suffer from the 'wishful thinking' condition, where they are so fixated on what they hope that will happen that they see any and every indicator that confirms their views and ignore most indicators that don't. This can also be witnessed in the fact that they now live in Europe, thinking that Europe has a much better chance of getting through this crisis than the US. Their view on other nations (EU) is overly romanticized and are blind to the shortcomings of the EU. But hey, the neighbour's grass is always greener!

Which is a shame, as Max has a talent for putting complex economic and financial pictures into perspective. Now he's not much more than a clown that can be fun to watch for entertainment purposes.

I think he whole point is that it is a little scary when IRANIAN TV does a better job covering the financial crisis than anyone on the TV airwaves in the US.

Does anyone else find that, well, err, DISTURBING?

Its been that way for the last several years... Aljazeera is a way better news source than CNN or CNBS.... They actually report news, where as the former two just cheer-lead. "Oh look the pretty numbers on the screen; green good, red bad".... Bunch of BS.

Hi P. Cow. Over the past couple of days, I've noticed the Independent article you linked, posted on a few of the websites I frequent. Thing is, it's a year old - October 6, 2009. Has there been an update on the situation ? Along with receiving broad coverage at the time, the story sparked ample speculation, and prompted immediate denials from the named conspirators (requisite).

While I can't validate his information hotline, or the depth of his connections, I believe there may be more substance lurking behind Keiser's geekish tirades than meets the eye. Anyone who missed "The Money Geyser" produced by Keiser in 2007, a few months before the Krona went TU, owes themselves a view....fans and detractors alike. Not only prescient, but funnier than hell.

He is not the first to underestimate the team in charge of the gold price. If it hits 1400 tomorrow, I will consider Max right "enough".

I wish I bought more gold & silver in the past. Fiat is getting crushed.
