a number of posters have made comments re ron paul. thought some would be interested in the long article about him in the ny times:

    Re: ron paul

thanks. I stopped our print subscription but enjoyed reading this.

It is typical of a lot of mainstream coverage of RP:

    1. he will never win

    2. his supporters are a bunch of wackos

    3. his views are somehow a hodgepodge

It's #3 I have an issue with. How can the article so painstakingly point out his almost completely ideologically consistent positions, yet then conclude that "But what is “Ron’s message”? Whatever the campaign purports to be about, the main thing it has done thus far is to serve as a clearinghouse for voters who feel unrepresented by mainstream Republicans and Democrats. The antigovernment activists of the right and the antiwar activists of the left have many differences, maybe irreconcilable ones. But they have a lot of common beliefs too, and their numbers — and anger — are of a considerable magnitude."

    Huh??

        Re: ron paul

I watched that google video a couple of days ago. After watching it, and reading some things, a thought occurred to me:

Is it possible Ron Paul might actually win the nomination?

Maybe I'm just being an overhyped optimist but I will switch my party allegiance to vote for him in the primary if there is a chance in california.

I second that 100%. The man is far and away more fit to heal what ails this country than any other candidate.
