Yeah, Jesus...never trust a guy with facial hair. Anyways, if my president is going to grow a mustache I want to see a Burt Reynolds imitation. I didn't even notice he was working on a little something until I read your post!
I don't see it. I need High Def.
Also glasses wouldn't hurt.

It sounds like he's taking to a bunch of 4th graders. (Maybe that's how he sees us.) Hard to compete orally with Obama.
Is Jindal a muslim?
So he admited that the Bush "free market" ideology was a complete failure and un America, then he repeats the same lame republican talking points.

Didn't see the moustache, but what a speech! Right on the money, told people what he meant, then clarified each major point to say what it didn't mean or didn't include. I was touched by the hard news and the request for people (students, parents, auto sector, etc.) to step up to the plate.
Well done!
We just might make it through this mess.

EDIT: Actually, he may be an immigrant as well, I haven't read where he was born. If he still has a major accent, immigrated after age 8 very probably - if you immigrate before age 8 you generally lose the accent.

Wow, that was some speech (video here (http://obamaondemand.com/) & transcript here (http://www.huliq.com/3257/77798/full-transcript-obamas-speech-congress))! Now I know why they nick named him "The Messiah", and I must say, he's very convincing and especially inspirational...
...but I nearly choked on the water I was drinking when he said that in addition to giving even more money to the military, going after terrorists in Pakistan, solving the economic crisis, fixing the housing foreclosures, making the USA the #1 country with the best education, making the auto industry world-class again, cutting the US deficit in 1/2 within his term (uh-huh) and reforming medicare (!!!), he also is going to have some spare time to find a cure for cancer!!
Damn! I nearly shed a tear in (temporary) belief - he was so good!
Then 15 minutes later I go to my computer and receive an email from EJ about 2009 possibly being the final stretch on the road to ruin (POOM!).
EJ, you're such a party pooper! hehe :-D
I have one question... if 2009 is when gold explodes... then why only increase bullion holding to 30% of your networth?
What are you doing with the other 70% ??

PS. Don't forget to tell us when "it's time at last to short US Treasuries!".

It sounded to me as if the focus of the speech was on how Obama is going to get the banks lending again.
I think he is convinced (for real) that they can get securitization going again.
Oh fuckin' boy, am I excited.
And for all of the wanna-be tough guy right-wing crap that Fox News anchors spout, they engage in the very same hero worship that the other networks do.
Only to be topped by Rachel Maddow over on MSNBC, whose mustache is erect while she gives a play by play of the speech highlights. The news media makes me sick.

After that speech I fully expected Obama to take off his shirt to reveal that he is actually the Man of Steel, complete with an "S" on his chest and flowing cape. If he can successfully deliver on half of the things he promised last night in light of our dismal current situation then I will consider him one of our greatest presidents ever. I fear he overreached....What a speaker though.
Others have noted it, too
I wonder if the American Mustache Institute (http://www.americanmustacheinstitute.org/Default.aspx) regrets endorsing Clinton
American Mustache Institute endorses Clinton, Huckabee
Think tank agrees to quench American thirst for political guidance
Feb. 12, 2008 (St. Louis) – With an increasing desire from both mustached and non-mustached Americans for political guidance during primary season, the non-partisan American Mustache Institute today announced its political endorsements for the Democratic and Republican nominees in the race for the 2008 presidency.
“With a crowded field of candidates who have clearly made poor grooming choices, Americans are craving the type of leadership provided by great former presidents Teddy Roosevelt, Chester A. Arthur and William Howard Taft,” said AMI research director Dr. Daniel T. Callahan. “AMI is here to provide guidance in this great time of confusion, and to lay down our expectations for leadership. Our initial decision was to support Chester A. Arthur as we did in 1880, but then my 16 year old son informed me that he has been dead for 120 years.”
AMI officially endorsed the candidacies of Senator Hillary Clinton of New York on the democratic ticket and Governor Mike Huckabee on the republican ticket for the following rationale:
Clinton
♦
Sen. Clinton represents the state of New York, the same state as one of our last mustached Presidents, the great Teddy Roosevelt.
♦
Despite being a woman, Sen. Clinton is the only candidate that has been spotted wearing a mustache. Common knowledge inside the Beltway: she is known to have worn a fake mustache from time-to-time to fit into the good ol’ boys club of Washington, DC.
♦
Sen. Clinton is running against two clean shaven men. Yes, her public platform has been focused on health care, education, and the war in Iraq, but behind closed doors she has admitted to the press that she just cannot stand for another clean shaven man to be elected President.

US Innovation Will Lead The Economic Recovery
As Barry said last night: "The time to take charge of our future is here." Well, the folks in Vassalboro, Maine are wasting no time. Here is a new economic innovation in which, hopefully with some Stimulus, the US can lead the way in Research and Development and export to the eagerly waiting World:
VASSALBORO, Maine — Cup size has more than one meaning at a new central Maine coffeehouse. Servers are topless at the Grand View Topless Coffee Shop, which opened its doors Monday on a busy road in Vassalboro. A sign outside says, "Over 18 only." Another says, "No cameras, no touching, cash only."
On Tuesday, two men sipped coffee at a booth while three topless waitresses and a bare-chested waiter stood nearby. Topless waitress Susie Wiley said men, women and couples have stopped by.
The coffee shop raised the ire of dozens of residents when it went before the town planning board last month. Town officials said the coffee shop met the letter of the law.

Without online financial services, I never would have been able to get a credit card, be a homedebtor or get a quick and dirty loan. The day they ask for photo ID, I'm toast.

That would mean he is our Joseph Stalin.
