Wife and I just got back from a 2 week trip to California – we live in Kansas City, MO.
We did a lot of driving, from LA to 100 miles north of San Francisco, along the coast and inland on 101, and back to LA again.
One thing that struck me is that a house out there comparable to the number of bedrooms, square footage and lot size (that we have here) would cost from 2 to 3 times as much.
Gas was slightly more, food about the same…etc.
Am wondering if there is an exodus of folks from CA to places like the Midwest, where housing costs are more affordable?
