I am trying to select an online broker. With all the financial turmoil -- what would happen if my online discount broker decided to close up shop? Would I get my money back and would my dollars be worth anything by the time I get them? The first one that caught my eye was Zecco since they can give away free trades every month. They also state that:
'Our fully licensed brokerage is a member of SIPC, covered by Lloyds of London insurance and is secured through VeriSign.'
