Mark Newman, professor of physics at the University of Michigan, has a new spin on an old map. He created a program to make cartograms--maps in which the states are drawn with their size proportional to population, not acreage. His latest cartograms describe voting in the 2008 presidential election. Find out what they show about voting trends.
