The SEC tells to Wall Street fraudsters that it's OK to cook the books (break the law). They even encourage it.
But who is the SEC?
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (commonly known as the SEC) is an independent agency of the United States government (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independent_agencies_of_the_United_States_governme nt) which holds primary responsibility for enforcing the federal securities laws and regulating the securities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_%28finance%29) industry, the nation's stock and options exchanges, and other electronic securities markets.
