When I read all these global warming horror stories, it seems to me that as a world economy we have to do something to not ruin the commons.

Bush will soon be out, and both McCain and Hillary (and maybe Gore, I guess, but Warner is much more of a favorite) will likely have the character to do something about this.

For McCain it will be full on nuclear, and for Hillary or Gore it will probably be alternative energy.

My faith is in a market based approach, where we simply tax shift against anything seen as environmentally destructive and then let the market figure it out.
