    I can't speak for software but all the arts are built on prior art. Nobody creates out of whole cloth. Seven years seems about right for a copyright. After that, open source. The corporate forever patents only kill creativity. Like that's news . . . .

      I listened to it last week. It is a really good program.

      There are law firms (most out of Texas) that set up shell companies - hundreds of them - to buy patents and use them to sue other companies. And, some of the larger ones set up "protection rackets"; you pay these firms a fee, and they do not sue you and protect you from lawsuits -> basically, they have patents that cover everything. There is no way that a web site is not using a patented technology. In other words, they can sue anybody, but for a fee...
