The adjustments in question?

That the progenitor of the first plot and its associated 'adjustments' is a scientist from the University of East Anglia, Climate Research Unit (CRU) is just a coincidence...

There may well be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this - though why actual thermometer readings need to be adjusted is curious. These aren't bristlecone tree rings.

But once again the reasons for the adjustments, etc are impossible to see since the source information (outside the actual temperature readings) has been sequestered.

If interested, the full detail on this can be seen at: http://icecap.us/images/uploads/global_warming_nz_pdf.pdf
