        lowry's has daily readings for what they call buying power and selling pressure. for some time selling pressure has exceeded buying power. if selling washed out a market, completed a correction, one would expect that shortly thereafter, on a bounce like yesterday, selling pressure would be less extreme, and buying power increased. the reverse happened yesterday. selling pressure increased in spite of the small gain in the indices, and buying pressure fell further.

          jk;

          Considering Hussman and Richard Russell, who has the most influence on how you make investment decisions?

            the two complement one another and in my experience are always in broad agreement in terms of both valuation and technical health. their focus is a little different. you won't find hussman suggesting you put a large chunk in precious metals - but he trades in and out of mining stocks in his total return fund, recently between about 8 and 18%. russell shows his thinking more in terms of technicals, charts, etc. hussman tends to broader discussion of valuation and expected market returns. i have a lot of respect for both of them.
